As many sophisticates on this thread already know, the U.S. has greatly aided it corporate banking class with grotesquely unfair impositions of trade rules on Third World nations. As well described in John Perkins' important work, "Confessions of an Economic Hit Man", tinyurl.com the U.S. government and our transnational corporations have been enriching themselves on the debt of Third World nations for decades. The developed world, in fact, sucks 150% as much money in debt service out of the Third World as it provides in so-called "aid". The whole system is a fraud, and the American public in general are too ignorant of the system to understand how callous, self-dealing and malevolent this whole rickety system happens to be. To most intelligent observers, it would be a huge blessing to the Third World if the greedy bankers, arms merchants and commodities traders of the First World would simply bugger off and let native peoples live in peace.
