The world is extremely gullible especially when corporate media keeps repeating the lies. The thing about the 'election' is that the political 'parties' couldn't campaign. That is, except for the US government supported major ones who magically have coffers full of money to spend on media.

Why is that? Where did the money come from?

What are the platforms of all 110 (or is it 111) parties on the ballot? Who are the 7500 people in those parties? What do they stand for? What are their policy suggestions?

It's utter bunkum.

The most rational commentary I heard was: the winners will be those already in power. The political situation in Iraq won't change because those in power have all of the resources and get all of the attention.

Besides, who in the world is counting the ballots? International observers are where? In places like Kuwait.

I figure that these are the same people who said:

- Iraq has WMDs NOW including nuclear, chemical and biological
- Iraqis will be greeting the US as liberators
- Iraqi oil production will pay for everything
- It's the end of Major Combat Operations
- Everything will change when the US hands over sovereignty

They've been completely wrong at every turn. The only good solution our of this mess is for Iraq to get the political backbone to demand that the US leave and NOT leave behind 14 bases and a huge embassy.
