I sent Juan Cole, the tenured radical at University of Michigan an email on the election. I got back this. There wasn't a 72 percent turnout. The Sunnis won't be represented. The voters had no idea of the names of the candidates they were supposedly voting for. It wasn't a proper election. More a referendum of some weird sort.
