Sidney, I understand what you are saying, but think you are a fool to take such a stand. All who believe will be citizens of God's kingdom, but that is an entirely different thing than being a citizen of a sovereign nation. In matters of the world, the leaders of the nations have the power to control the lives of their citizens, and it doesn't appear that God is doing anything to alter this process. Being a citizen of a nation is a matter of the mind, and being a citizen of God's kingdom, is a matter of the spirit. In case you haven't noticed, God has not taken a stance regarding the election of the leaders of nations.
Remember one thing. If you do not participate in an election by casting your vote, you have given up your privilege of bitching about the results of that election.
God's kingdom is in Heaven, and not of this earth. You can't be a citizen of God's kingdom until you get there. When, and if,you get there, what happens on earth no longer has meaning. Believe what you want, but be ready for some shocks along the road you have taken. All you have done by not voting, has taken some of the value of a free election away.
Since you insist on being of God's kingdom, even before you get there, there is no use in continuing any discussion with one that considers himself to be "not of this earth". |
