OK, I'll take the bait. <g> In a "macro" sense, my guess is that with the recent turmoil in the Asian markets, money is flying all over the globe right now; Asian money coming here and everywhere else, and ours and other's going there and everywhere else. Net effect on the U.S. stock market? I don't have a clue!

To what extent this is a financial crisis versus an economic one, I don't know. To what extent this is a short-term crisis versus long-term one, I don't know. To what extent governments versus individuals (the Soros types?) and corporations are involved, I don't know. To what extent Japan will be affected (a critical aspect, IMHO), I don't know.

I would suspect that most of the "fleeing" of money out of the region has been done by now. And that money inflows into the region to take advantage of the situation will happen somewhat more gradually. But that's pure speculation on my part. I don't know whose money is going where in reaction to the unfolding events in Asia.

Just my thoughts -
