I'm still not sure that I understand. For a fraction of the cost of the Ultracapacitor, I can increase the size of the tank in the VRB system and provide for the same additional storage. One of the big advantages of the VRB is the low cost of adding capacity. And neither startup delay nor overcharging are problems with the VRB.

The Ultracapacitor seems very appropriate for the applications decribed in the article where very limited storage was required to handle to start-up delay of a fuel cell or motor generator. In most applications where the equipment being powered is electronic, interruptions cannot be tolerated. In telecom, could mean the disconnect of calls.
