Ben,

I chose to liquidate my PRDM position simply because I came to question their ability to even survive a prolonged SRAM slump. I also became quite angry with them for their earlier representations that their SRAMs were above the "commodity" SRAM fray, only to subsequently see their sales drop farther than any other SRAM supplier that I follow. That caused me to question their credibility.

I am mildly better off for having switched from PRDM to IDTI and HMTT on stock price considerations alone. IDTI has held steady and HMTT has improved slightly since I made the switch, compared with a continued slide for PRDM (though I didn't check PRDM's price today). The advantage increases when one factors in the tax advantage of having held and sold such a woof woof as PRDM. I also like both of their future prospects better. When the SRAM funk lifts, IDTI emerges with massively expanded production capacity. They are also more chip diversified than PRDM. HMTT is a leading edge thin film HDD platter maker that is growing impressively.

I don't suppose I'll really know whether or not I was right until say...8/97 or so. At least I no longer have the daily nausea of watching PRDM's stock price performance. Good luck.

Don
