( and we know how biased those times have been depending on who one was associating with at the time)
Biased? That while Stalin was dictator of the Russian Empire, he had tens of millions of his own people intentionally or casually killed through famine while pushing farm collectivization? That innocent men were tortured and threatened and their families threatened until they would confess in open court to crimes they could not have and did not commit? That he accused his own doctors, who JUST HAPPENED to be primarily Jewish, of attempting to kill him? That he accused his own officer corps of plotting against him and decimated it?

you know how liberal those college professors are (sic) as that is what we hear.
Yes, I do, as a matter of fact- -from personal experience.

Democrat..with conservative FISCAL policies
Is the "conservative fisal policies" as in FDR? Or LBJ's Great Society?

As you say there were many in the late forties and fifties who thought Russia was getting a raw deal from us as we had been allies throughout the war and the Russian people had suffered more than we had.
Were I to express my true opinion of that line of thinking, you would probably be insulted. When did the US make a non-agression pact with Nazi Germany guaranteeing no attack ny one nation on the other (HAH!) and allowing for the invasion and partition of Poland and the Russian annexation of the Baltic states? Russia did. We owe a debt to a dictator who joined with another dictator to partition Europe and got double crossed? Why? Do you believe that Stalin sent EVEN ONE of the Russian soldiers out to die for the US? If he did, we might owe something, but he sent them out to protect HIM and his corrupt regime.

we had been allies throughout the war and the Russian people had suffered more than we had.
This is the same as claiming we were allies with the Taliban during the Soviet-Afghanistan war because we supplied the Taliban with weapons. Or that we were Saddam's ally because we supported and supplied him during the Iran-Iraq War. There is a difference between "ally" and common enemy". The British were our allies; we shared a common enemy with Russia.

So, there was a lot of support for them and I was taken to see "Lennigrad" the film that was later banned
At the time in American history you refer to, a film could be banned for pornoraphic but not political content. So how could the film have been banned? I'd like proof of that statement.

which showed how Russian men, women and children rose up against the German Army to defend their city and homeland, fighting in the streets with make shift weapons. They were very brave . They had the burnt earth policy of leaving nothing to the Germans.. burning their land and crops in front of the approaching army. One could not but admire such patriotic people.
No doubt. Considering what the Germans were doing when they captured territory, why not? You might as well die fighting. They would slaughter you anyway.

It had nothing to do with Stalin. He was incidental.
In that case, George Bush is just incidental to US actions and I want to hear no more criticism of him by the left.

I liked your entire message to me and thank you. It's really encouraging when heavy weights like you,Buschman and JLA offer their opinions that are supportive.
Um I'm not sure this is supportive, but you are certainly welcome back. You and I have a very different view of Communist Russia and the reasons for its actions though.
