Go ahead are start with the military. I'm sure Haliburton or any number of houses would be more than happy to provide medical services for the Forces. They might even use doctors.

OH! WELL! That's what makes Canada interesting. I have been told by several Canadians...

I can't say about Canada. I asked one [alleged] Canadian whether there was a parallel privat practice in Canada and he wouldn't answer. But you've stumbled on something astounding: each country has a different system from other countries. Wow.

Is it really your considered opinion that those are the only figures of importance? And you can't see how those figures can be influenced by factors ouside the medical system?

As I said a long, long time ago. If you want to decide which health care system is "better" you have to decide what the criteria in advance.

Suppose you gain 6 months in life expectancy, but the taxes you must pay to get it mean you live in a slovenly hovel all your life? Is it worth it?

Suppose you're one of the ~40 million Americans that has no health care coverage of any kind. What difference does it make what technology is available or beds per capita or a whole other list of characteristics of the health care system.

OTOH, they were meant to gain the support of one of your favorite groups- -AARP.

There you go again, thinking you have psychic abilities. Do you watch John Edwards a lot....voices from the other side....oooh.
