WELL,IF YOU'RE GOING TO GET PICKY.... :-)

Correct. Except that second non-aggression pact was actually the Tripartite Pact- -a mutual defense treaty between Germany, Italy, and Japan. It has been taken as really being a warning shot at the US- -remain neutral or face a 2-front war.

It, of course, led to even more opportunity for double crossing. After the Allied conquest of Sicily, the Italians had enough of their favorite clown and overthrew Mussolini and then declared war on their "ally" Germany.

AND, yes, there was a non-aggression pact between Russia and Japan.

The Soviet Union denounced its five-year nonaggression pact with Japan.

Adding yet another double cross, Russia declared war on Japan on August 8. (And scooped up some outlying Japanese islands that have been a bone of contention between the two countries ever since.)

Also, Stalin hated the US- -until he needed our industrial output to hold off the Germans.

May you live in interesting times! :-)
