That's a comfort thing for a lot of people, probably most people. A couple of years ago there was a long discussion on another thread about the difficulties of balancing the checkbook. I interjected that I had quit balancing mine a long, long time ago. It was interesting to see how attached people were to that process. Some even thought they had some legal obligation to balance it. Mostly it was just inertia that kept them doing it, declining to question something that was so ingrained.

I Efiled my tax returns two days ago.

I haven't e-filed yet. I was turned off when it was first offered because I resented having to pay extra for something that was saving money for others. I haven't switched because I have to go to attach a printer to my notebook to produce a paper copy for my records and my father's taxes so I might as well print out and mail my original, as well.
