Telkonet Partners With GTSI to Bring Powerline Networking Solutions to Government Customers
Tuesday February 1, 11:50 am ET

GERMANTOWN, Md.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 1, 2005--Telkonet, Inc. (Amex:TKO - News), the leader in commercial powerline communications (PLC), today announced that the company has entered into a Master Services Agreement with GTSI Corp. (Nasdaq:GTSI - News) to address the myriad of network infrastructure deployment opportunities in the government market.
GTSI is a leading government technology solutions provider, with approximately $1 billion in annual sales. Prior to selecting Telkonet's PLC system as a part of the extensive GTSI portfolio of Information Technology (IT) solution offerings, the company completed its own technical and marketing due diligence of the product by reviewing existing Telkonet systems deployments with the U.S. Navy, Army Corps of Engineers and other government and commercial customers. As a result of this agreement, GTSI will be a preferred tier 1 government solutions provider of Telkonet's AES 256-bit encrypted, powerline networking system to U.S. Department of Defense, Federal Civilian, State and Local Government, and education markets with specific focus on secure, high-speed data applications, public safety programs, contingency planning/disaster recovery projects, and security-related communications.

Ronald W. Pickett, President and Chief Executive Officer of Telkonet, Inc. stated, "With the launch of this keystone partnership, Telkonet will work closely with GTSI's extensive sales and marketing organization to take full advantage of the opportunities for powerline networking solutions in the government market. By harnessing the breadth and depth of government contracting experience GTSI brings to bear in the marketplace, we look forward to winning long-term business across multiple government agencies that are currently working with GTSI, including the Department of Defense (DoD), State Department and Justice Department."

Telkonet's system uses PLC technology to enable the fast, secure transmission of data, voice and video over existing electrical wires within buildings, ships and similar facilities. The company's proprietary solutions encompass a wide range of secure networking applications including emergency response, mobile computing and public safety and are currently deployed at various Navy facilities, Army Corps of Engineers installations and within the theatre in Iraq.
