Jeff - if it were public, it would be an interesting short candidate. Every single pharmacy within a 20 mile radius of me is out of Airborne. When they get them in, it's typically 10 packs or so. The tablets cost about a buck a piece. I don't know if they work, but so far, they've been successful for me. I have wondered why the shortage. This is not the first year that have been out or limited in supply. Perhaps the company does not want to get too big, does not want public scrutiny, etc.. Perhaps the issues of Ziccam and sprays have caused them to limit their marketing. As a wholistic herbal and vitamin tablet, I'm surprised that nobody else has cloned it yet.
