Something smells odd about that research. The article says that half of the medical bankruptcies had $11,000 in out of pocket expenses. Now, if $11,000 is going to cause you to file bankruptcy, look in the mirror before blaming the medical/insurance/legal industry. Now, if your medical problems keep you from working, on top of the $11,000, I can see bankruptcy being a possibility, but the medical costs are only a contributing factor.
