If we are in a minority in resisting a national health care insurance scheme for everyone, its a pretty big minority.

You've framed it differently. I said "It's not just liberals who expect health care to be provided for them." Whether it's a nationalized health care system, Medicare, Medicaid, or employer provided health insurance, the vast majority of people expect no- or low-cost coverage rather than to pay their own medical bills or to buy their own insurance.

If employers were to stop providing health coverage as they've stopped providing fixed-benefit retirement plans, even Republicans will to looking to the government to pick up the slack. You can count on that, I think. Medical care is expensive and necessary so people expect assistance.
