For some reason, you and Tim think the $100B of the total $500B borrowed is magically different. No my point is that it isn't different, at least not in any significant way. The government can not be reasonably said to have a trust fund when it is in debt. You have a real fund if you have no debt and have financial assets in a fund, or if your assets exceed your debt. If you debt exceeds your assets then you are in debt, not the holder of a large positive position socked away for a rainy day. Tim
