That's a very good prayer to pray; for protection from deception and being deceived. I think that is the beginning of any quest for the truth. Afterall in the last days there will be a deluding influence so powerful that if possible even the elect would be deceived! So of course that's our first job, to see through the deluding influences. I have tested all (I hope) of what I learned decades ago at "church" and found that some things I thought were solid truth were just fables and not supported by the word at all. Just someones own interpretation of it. But it is a deluding influence that keeps us believing these things for so long!
