Stratfor on the Ukraine - What thay have left out is the push (or pull) by the EU to expand thier borders. Using the 'soft power' of joining the EU, countries like Romania, Hungary, and Turkey have made major changes to legal and economic systems. The EU wants to neutralize the security threat of Russia. And they want to be more independent of US protection from Russia. That leads to a steady push to expand closer to Russia - Baltic Stastes, Ukaraine, Romainia, Moldova and maybe Transdinestria. Georgia, Armnenia. And soem pan-Turkish group to stabalize Central Asia and the 'Stan (Turkmenistan, Uzbekistant, Kazhackstan) ***** Startfor does not seem to be as good on business topics as politcal military ones. They require different mind sets - one spends resources to reach goals, the other tries to arrange prices and costs to create net resources....
