I posted earlier a link to a site that lists exactly what the social security tax rates were then compared to now. Anybody that paid in at the beginning paid in less than a fifth of what people pay in now as a percentage of their income yet those that paid in the least, such as yourself expect to receive the benefits of people that paid in five times as much, while those paying in now fully expect to receive little or nothing in return. Social Security is nothing more than a a chain letter scheme to benefit those that paid in nearly nothing at the top of the pyramid while ripping off everybody at the bottom of the pyramid. Having paid the highest rates for the past 17 years, I fully expect to get a pittance in 2035 while all the extra dollars went to pay outrageously generous benefits to those that paid in 3% to 6%. People today pay in 15% of their incomes!!! 7.5% comes out of paychecks automatically plus all our salaries are reduced by another 7.5% so that our employers pay their half in payrolls taxes. Thats 15% Compare that to your 3% to 6% payments. Fair huh?
