shifting the risk to retirees??? oh really??? I have already pointed out in a previous post that SS benefits are not 'guaranteed'. This was decided by the Supreme Court in 1960. In fact, your so-called 'guaranteed' SS benefit is totally up to the whim of Congress at the time you retire... i.e., no 'guarantee' at all! You don't perceive the current system as being 'risky'??? I think private accounts reduce the risk to the individual.
