PB, it's no wonder Tony Blair wins and the dopey conservatives lose. < The proposals were welcomed by campaign groups, but the Conservatives said that anyone who kills while using a mobile should be charged with causing death by dangerous driving, which carries a maximum jail sentence of 14 years.>

Why on Earth the conservatives have such a fetish about mobile phones beats me. I guess they are kind of ignorant modern day Luddite.

Killing somebody by failing to pay attention due to any number of other distractions is okay, but talking on a handsfree phone is tantamount to intentional murder. Maybe they were misquoted as that's so ridiculous that only a loon would come up with such an idea.

Tuning a radio and crashing is okay.
Listening to a passenger is okay.
Checking the children in the back seat is okay.
Looking at the view for a couple of seconds is okay.
Lighting a cigarette is okay.
Checking make-up is okay.
Listening to a voice through a speaker is NOT okay and punishable by 14 years gaol.

Let's hope Tony Blair wins again.
