TP, The current baby-boom surge is temporary and the program will after a few short years return to surplus. In the mean time that is why the surplus treasury bonds were stashed away. You have got to be kidding. There is a higher probability that the country will be in bankruptcy before the baby boomers are through collecting the full SS benefits. Joe
