Folks, there is a very simple rule of thumb that will make this a much more pleasant and valuable experience for everyone, and it pertains to those on both sides of the ideological aisle:

Value the differences among us, and attack the message, not the messenger.

The vast majority of the problems arise when the issues become personalized. It's fine to disagree with someone; controversy is good, as is voicing your disagreement. This site would be pretty boring and of little value if everyone agreed on all issues.

And, it wouldn't hurt to keep in mind that this is an investment-oriented discussion site. The intra-thread poltical ideology wars are of no value to us, and in fact detract from the site by consuming limited resources better utilized elsewhere.

It's worthwhile for everyone to consider if they want to be part of the problem or part of the solution.
