I get your point: US intelligence (CIA) has got its "own men" planted in most South American drug cartels --hence it can't be taken unawares, eh? Well, I'm not impressed... Again, think of Spain's ETA and Britain's IRA: both Northern Ireland and the Basque country are MUCH, MUCH tinier turfs to watch than Mexico + the US Southwest, are they not? So, it should be much easier for Britain's and Spain's crack anti-terrorist sleuths to thwart ETA and IRA plots... It should be but it ain't. Gus
