"Those detainees are not US citizens!" You mean the ones at GITMO? Well I never said they were... nor was I even talking about them specifically. Was I was talking about is that the President claims for himself the 'right' to lock up anyone, anywhere, (without any legal recourse), based simply upon his assertion that someone needs to be locked up. Apparently, we are supposed to TRUST him, and... I guess... ALL FUTURE PRESIDENTS who may EVER assume the office with this power... that they will NOT EVER ABUSE THE POWER because they are all going to be 'good guys' or something. I maintain that NO President should have the rights of a Monarch, the right to lock up anyone for any length of time, simply on their say-so... and without judicial appeal. Our founding fathers would have ignited a revolution against any such government.
