I left off one more possibility.
In fact it could be the most likely one:
The treasury market revolts as soon as Greenspan pauses.

That could cause a spike that in fact might last for weeks.
Should that happen it will be the death of US equities and housing. I will repeat my assertion that it will still be a short term phenemonon, but a crucial one... One that has the potential to change the sentiment towards risk taking in equities and junk.
