re: Personally, I think that's similar to the shift in power from landowners to urban areas around the time of industrialization, but the main theme is the same. There will always be people who know how to work the system, and there will always be people who get screwed over undeservedly.

My thinking is the majority gets screwed to benefit the few. Income distribution used to be much flatter. (At least it seems that way to me).

But what can you do? Consolidation creates efficiencies that save money (that small business owners would have been earning otherwise). It's not going to change.
