"I don't know if the Hispanic/Latin vote is a single block. It would seem that they come from a variety of countries and have a variety of experiences." That's one of my pet peeves. The Hispanic/Latino category makes no sense because these are people coming from a couple of dozen nations, and of very mixed ethnic backgrounds. Some are White, some are what we in the U.S. call "Black," and many are Native Americans. Some speak Spanish as a first language, to others it is a second language, and to still others it is an unknown language. An American who is a Native American gets to retain his/her status as "different" from the people who conquered the Native Americans. A Mexican Native American, on the other hand, gets lumped in with the people who slayed his/her ancestors as if they were no more than insects. Seems like insult added to injury to me. How can you equate a Mayan living in the jungle of Chiapas, Mexico to a White professional person living in Caracas, Venezuela?
