And while "it's the hottest weather for 100 years" was alleged to show greenhouse effect in action, NZ was suffering the worst winter ever [but that too was ignored as it didn't contribute to the "we now have greenhouse effect on us" news.

A few millimetres of sea level rise [or maybe it was land fall] somewhere is alleged to show greenhouse effect in action, but a single tsunami causing an instant sea level rise of a couple of centuries showed they are worrying about the wrong cause of sea level rise.

It's not the greenhouse effect rise which matters. It's the physical instability of the interface between the liquid ocean and gaseous atmosphere. A minor disturbance and waves go around the world. Wait until they get a Tunguska energy input over the ocean. Or a Canary Island collapse. Or a volcano subsea slide. There is a LOT of ocean.
