Its Yiddish.......a bastardization of Hebrew and I think German. It means a jerk....a zero. I went to a high school that was half Jewish. <g> Its german origin is "ornament"..the yiddish use is literally "dick" in pejorative slang. I knew about the dick part, not the ornament part. However in Websters, the definition is a jerk. But...the word is SHMUCK, with an H...I was goofing on you. Actually, its spelled schmuck.......so much for the language class. I was in a hurry when I posted.....sorry for the misspelling. ted
