<big game hunters going after bear in Yosemite>

It's funny you say that... I occasionally use Yosemite as an example for privatization. I imagine some large garish cartoon figures made of composite (or, maybe I'm thinking too small, concrete) to greet people into Wildernessland, a division of Sony Entertainment. Hundreds of feet tall on each side of the road, for miles.

Many people don't know that this almost happened with Disney and the development of the Sierra near Mineral King. They wanted to build a huge theme park in 1960's. Can you imagine the impact of 20-30,000 people year round at 10,000 feet?

Actually, one of my concerns about the U.S. Forest Service was being ordered to mark trees for cutting whose removal I knew would harm the eco-system. I also feared that there would be unethical activity that I might be forced to overlook if I wanted to keep my job.
