The current baby-boom surge is temporary

Its temporary but its decades long and massive in terms of dollars.

Also what is not temporary is the fact that the average life span keeps going up and the amount of workers per retiree keeps going down. The general trend line is towards problems in social security. The baby boomers are a big blip above the trend line in terms of these problems. When they eventually die things will probably move back to the trend line but the trend itself isn't good.
