In response to your original response, I said it was apt but not necessarily fair. Were you listening?

It was a outrageous attempt to equate the two. No use continuing this conversation.

If you can argue just how it is that the equation actually made (rather than the extension) is outrageous, then there is a point in continuing the conversation. If you are just going to muddy the waters, then there isn't.
