You're assuming way too much on several counts.

- The number of SI users who post to political boards relative the number who post to the site overall is quite small.

- There will be some level of integration between the sites.

The only reason for breaking up the site would be to charge for each piece.

It's unlikely the other sites will be subscription based. By providing topic-related sites, we'll be able to cater better to advertisers and attract users more easily.

It doesn't cost anything to read posts here. It never has. And now free users can post up to five message a day in investment forums.

Yahoo stock boards are useless from a quality perspective... anarchy is the rule there.
