Ausdauer and Sam, Pardon me for interjecting.

I have a lot of experience using flash memory in computer applications for video data logging. And it is obvious that the speed of writing on flash is orders of magnitude slower than rotating magnetic media.

But the significant question is: is the slower rate still adequate to keep up with home video recording ? I just can't see how that is possible (for sustained - minutes -) recording. With present technology, I think only very high compression will allow the flash memory to be written without missing much of the data. Like 90% of it.

I have 2 questions.

1- Is the 30 fps actually verified ? I understand that you set the option to 30 fps. But does it actually record fast motion without jumps ? My experience is that it does not. But I wonder what your experience is.

2- do the results of recording 640 x 480 look OK when viewed on a television, or a large display ? Again, my experience is that they are not even worth saving (unless I was visiting my long-lost uncle in Tibet, and there was no Best Buy near-by. And I simply could not get a tape camcorder or dvr.)

Thanks in advance. I really do have an open mind about this. It is possible I have not studied it the right way. I will also look up the speed of writing to flash, and the speed required for HDTV standard.
