Jeff,

Registration and use of the site is free. Premium features require a subscription.

siliconinvestor.com

As a "free" user, I can't see what use the site has, and I'm not going to pay for using the site, and find out later that it's nothing more than a collection of gripes, and no real help.

What kind of site were you expecting? This is a message board site primarily for the purpose of discussing stocks and investments in general. As a free user, you can browse the message boards and post up to five messages a day on any board in an investment-related forum. You can search for boards of interest by keyword, or browse a list of boards by category by clicking on "Message Boards" at the top of any page.

By the way, there is no "$20 a month" subscription. The $19.95 ANNUAL advanced feature set is available to grandfathered and lifetime members. Otherwise, there are quarterly, semi-annual, and annual subscriptions available. Most users who subscribe have first used the site as free member and then upgrade to gain access to the Premium features. By then, they have become familiar with the site and recognize the value of the Premium features.
