Bush a one time event? Nixon was elected twice, Reagan was elected twice, Bush elected twice,.. it certainly looks like a six time event, getting worse each time.
The underlying trends:
Disparity of incomes steadily increasing.
Power of the labor movement steadily decreasing.
Power of the reactionary media to confuse, steadily increasing.
Participation in the elections decreasing, almost steadily.
Environmental pollution steadily increasing.
IQ of the populace obviously steadily decreasing. People who use educated language and avoid simplistic explanations don't get voted in.
Indebtedness of the deluded public constantly increasing.
Franklin Delano Roosevelt was the last great president.

On behalf of humanity, I'd like to "believe in the USA" but events are too overwhelming. Currently, I think Europe is the most civilized place.
You actually think that the reactionaries are incapable of finding another Bush? Surely they are a dime a dozen. Candidate must be pro life therefore love guns and executions, talk in an illiterate over simplified fashion, have no knowledge or interest in history etc. You can find a Bush in most any bar.
