[The only thing I added was that it takes 'about 2 million' new jobs a year to keep up with normal population growth....]

"And that is what I responded too. Seems like a weird thing to add when the monthly numbers and curent unemployment rate do not support that assertion."

Why is the observation 'wierd'????????

It just a plain fact, based on the size of our population and it's growth rate, and the number of people who turn 18 each year.

'Monthly numbers and "unemployment rate" have NOTHING to do with my statement about basic demographics --- especially since they are NOT hard counts of anything, but estimates, guess, etc., and subject to considerable statistical fiddling (for example: the dropping of people from the 'unemployment survey' after they exhaust their benefits, etc.)

The only 'hard count' we have is the national CENSUS.
