This is a quote from a review of a 7-megapixel Pentax

---------------------
Still images can be saved in standard JPEG compressed format with one of three quality levels or in TIFF uncompressed format for post-capture editing with no compression artifacts. In addition to high resolution still images the Optio750Z also captures VGA video with sound at a rate of 30fps (frames per second) with 640 x 480 recorded pixels up to the full available capacity of the memory card. The Optio750Z is also equipped with a Voice recording mode that records audio only.

So again, that pesky VGA resolution for video. What's up with that? It looks like for video, top-of-the-line cameras are no better than the free kids' cameras they give away in cereal boxes.

edit:

This is from an $800 8-megapixel camera that also does video. Note the low resolution of video recording.

--------------------
Adding to the Pro1's versatility is a high-resolution movie mode that captures 640 x 480 movies with sound at 15 frames per second for up to 30 seconds per clip.
