The Patsies ...

<< Good luck tomorrow, Eric! >>

Thank you, cuf. Win or lose, I can't think of an event I've looked forward to as much as this one since Sheila and I relocated to the Philly burbs from Steeltown 19¾ years ago.

<< I've got a rooting interest for the Pats, with Nancy being a BeanTown native, and Brady coming from the Bay area, but I think it'll be a good game. >>

Your rooting interest is good. The Patsies need some fans rooting for em somewhere. Iggles have a home field advantage in this game because Igglemaniacs have moved the Linc parking lot tailgate south to the Alltel stadium parking lot while the Patriotics are home in Back Bay eating quiche, and sipping chardonnay.

Sheila and I paid our Patriotic dues in the old Braves Field and Fenway Park in the early gory glory days of Vito 'Babe' Parilli, Gino Cappeletti, and Nicholas Anthony 'Skippy' Buonocontti, but we moved on to bigger and better things -- the Terry, Mean Joe, Franco, and Rocky show -- and forgot all about em. about the time Jim Plunkett came to town, and Foxboro opened. It took a while to turn in the Terrible Towel, but the departure of Buddy Ryan, Rich Kotite, and Ray Rhodes, over here helped. and we are now as green as green can be.

While everyone is watching #5 & #81 @ 81% today ...

... keep your eye on these key birds:

#2 • #20 • WEST36 • #54 • #58 • #92

Just in case they get in a groove, and you and Nan get in their groove as a result, and if you don't already know em, here's the words to the Fight Song:

Fly Eagles fly, on the road to victory.
Fight Eagles fight, score a touchdown 1-2-3.

Hit 'em low,
Hit 'em high,
And we'll watch our Eagles fly.

Fly Eagles fly on the road to victory.

Gotta go, and say one last prayer to Broadway Joe, the patron saint of underdogs, make sure the HD on the DVD recorder is clean, and then fire the grille. True to our roots Sheila picked up some nicely aged hand cut strips, some 1¾ lobsters, a peck of big belly littlenecks, and some corn on the cob. Cornbread's already baked, as are the beans. Clambake starts ½ hour before kickoff.

Best 2 U and Nan and football fans everywhere, whatever their persuasion.
