Another advantage of height challenged people is in military Basic Training. When learning to march in a parade, the troops are lined up by height, right to left and front to back, except the shortest person in the group is the Guide-On or flag carrier and leads the group from the front right.

Nothing to do with height, but the dumbest a-hole in the squad had a special position, too: Latrine Queen.

btw, just to set the record straight, I was the squad leader for our 2nd Squad. I was 6'-1" and 145 lbs; now 44 yrs later, I've shrunk to 5'-11.5" and weigh close to 2-1/2 times as much (350 lbs). My height should have kept up with my weight; I should be 6'-14" now. :~(
