Furthermore, their current government is a threat to the American way of life. The Iranian government rules in its own best interest, and not in the interest of its people. It's America's duty to oppose such a system

Most countries rule in their own best interest.......we are an example of that notion. And many countries in this world pose a threat to the American way of life. So what's new and what makes Iran so special?

Your misreading my post. I said the Iranian government rules in its interest, rather than in the interest of the Iranian people. That's a fundamental difference between democratic and autocratic government, and its America's duty to do its best to reverse that situation. It's basically the same concept as freeing the slaves (we democratic peoples should work to liberate the populations under autocratic governments). This has been a staple of US foreign policy for the past century.

what makes Iran so special?

What makes them "special" (a gentler word than I would have chosen) is embodied in their legislature chanting "Death to America" at the end of their sessions. They have chosen to be America's enemy, and will suffer the repurcussions of that choice.
