It is very informative that you (as with many on the left) invent facts to make your opposition to progress appear to be reasonable. You invented some cakewalk prognostication just as you have repeated the claim that WMD had been the justification for liberating Iraq from a brutally opressive dictatorship.

If you expect democracy and freedom to change people's hearts as fast as a light switch, then you will be disappointed. IMO a democracy that improved the freedoms of Iraqis would be a dramatic improvement, even if freedoms were less than in other democracies. Anything that increases freedom for any human is a benefit to all humanity.

It would sadden me to see Iraq give away their freedoms. We cannot inflict freedom on those unwilling to accept the gift. We can however help them achieve greater freedom than they could have expected to achieve without our assistance.
