Blasting Hamas, in my view, merely perpetuates the status quo

Three years ago the status quo was that Hamas was strong, successful suicide attacks happened every few weeks, and the Palestinian people supported them.

The current status quo is that the leaders of Hamas are dead or in Syria, successful suicide attacks have stopped happening, and the Palestinian people say they are tired and are ready for a cease fire. Support for suicide attacks has dropped sharply.

In between these two very different status quos, Israel blasted Hamas. I submit that it made the difference.
