American HealthChoice Announces Letter of Intent to Purchase Axiom Marketing Group; Moving Forward to Major Effort to Place System to Treat Back Pain in Clinics Throughout America 2/8/2005 8:01:25 AM
FLOWER MOUND, Texas, Feb 08, 2005 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- American HealthChoice, Inc. (AMHI), a medical services company with 30 owned and affiliated medical clinics in Texas (http://www.americanhealthchoice.com ), announced today that its wholly owned subsidiary, RehabCo, Inc., has entered into a letter of intent to purchase Axiom Marketing Group, Inc., Nevada, which will significantly increase the Company's efforts to market the DRX9000 Spinal Decompression System (DRX), a revolutionary system to treat lower back pain. Terms of the transaction were not disclosed. "The DRX, which was developed in part by NASA to correct problems, using a non-surgical technique, including herniated discs, degenerative disc disease and sciatica, will be marketed to established clinics throughout the country by the team at RehabCo, including Gregory L. Westfall, who has been involved with DRX since its inception," said Dr. J. W. Stucki, American HealthChoice CEO.
"We were paid commission on the outright sale of over $2 million of this equipment in 2004 and we expect commissions on the sale of more than $5 million this year," said Mr. Westfall. "With the backing of American HealthChoice, and with its unique marketing plan to make it easier for physicians to place the DRX in their clinics, we are confident of exponential growth in sales in future years. Mr. Westfall, who has managed the number one sales force in the nation for five separate medical manufacturing companies in his sales career, has developed a national reputation as an expert with innovative fee-per-use placement strategies to help medical centers acquire diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. "We have identified some 100 clinics that want to participate in an equipment placement program to add this non-surgical low back pain treatment to their practices," Mr. Westfall said.
