To infiltrate means to penetrate with hostile intent [see your link]. What do you think the Iraqi war is.......an act of peace?

1 - The statement was about infiltrating our government not Iraq.

Yes, to infiltrate the gov't in order to realize a goal that embodies hostile intent........the invasion of Iraq. The hostile intent does not have to be the overthrow of the American gov't.

2 - Infiltrate generally implies surreptitious penetration. In fact one of the definitions of the term makes that explicit.

For decades, they conspired to change the course of American international diplomacy.

"Conspired" and "infiltrated" imply more stealth and nefariousness then is in evidence. They are like any other political group. They push their agenda (to the extent that they have a unified agenda). And they are really more of a political persuasion then a political group. (For an example of the difference consider liberal to be a political persuasion and moveon.org to be a political group, or you could use libertarian, and the Libertarian party, or conservative and the National Taxpayers Union.)

Not all of their agenda was public. The part that was not public is the conspiracy part.

Why are you trying to turn them into something innocent when in fact they are anything but?
