Veterans Not Happy With Budget Proposal

Yahoo News

President George W. Bush's budget could mean increased health care costs for military veterans.

The president's budget increases spending for the Department of Veterans Affairs by $4.5 billion, but to pay for the increase the White House wants some veterans to chip in more for their health care. In some cases, they will be required to pay twice as much as they pay now.

Reaction from veterans News 8 spoke with at the Lebanon VA Hospital Tuesday afternoon was mostly negative.

Among the increased costs proposed by the president -- prescription drug co-pays would jump from $7 to $15 for a month's supply, and some veterans would have to pay $250 a year to use the system.
