I asserted that reporters, like Kurtz, would wait to publish until they had enough substance to package a story

Kurtz will never have it. He only did one interview, while the Sun reporter, in much less time got three. Kurtz is never going to go after Eason, the guy is his boss at CNN. We now have five separate eyewitnesses who were there who all agree on what Eason said. The only dispute among the five is how quickly he backed off of it, and exactly what the sequence was. This is exactly what you would expect from good eyewitness reports.

The blogs are pounding it in much the same spirit that I am watching it. They know that Eason did it. They want to nail him for it. They have been extremely accurate about it. Everyone of them that I read has immediately retracted anything that does not add up. And they are going to keep pounding it in order to see how far they can get. In other words, how much collective clout do they now have?
