What this fellow leaves off is some of the following:
1. People retired often are assisting their younger children. Heck, I got a son 29 who is STILL in college and I am still helping him though he has a full time job.
2. The MONEY the old folks spend often is providing the JOBS for the younger members of society. Reduce their income and job market shrinks.
3. SS is NOT welfare. Its a RETIRMENT FUND that most of us have paid in far more then we can reasonably expect to get back. If one wants to talk about LARGESS how about talking about the OUTRAGEOUS PENSIONS POLITICIANS GET after serving AS LITTLE as ONE TERM. Now THATS OBSCENE. jdn
