"You will loose this fight just like all the other basic human rights Americans have had to fight for."

I have not lost any fight for human rights because I have always supported human rights. Human rights are inherently granted as a condition of being human. The government is in place to provide protections for our inherent freedoms and liberties by enacting laws that afford protection against tyranny.

This one is no different. I have made it quite clear that I believe and support the right for gays to have every entitlement granted to heterosexuals by the government; further you have enumerated those practical issues of legal substance and I have expressed my support of each. Beyond that there is no issue of discrimination or freedom that is applicable.

"Freedom is living without government coercion. So when a politician talks about freedom for this group or that, ask yourself whether he is advocating more government action or less. …

If we hope to remain free, we must cut through the fog and attach concrete meanings to the words politicians use to deceive us. …

For the first time, a government was created solely to protect the rights, liberties, and property of its citizens. Any government coercion beyond that necessary to secure those rights was forbidden, both through the Bill of Rights and the doctrine of strictly enumerated powers. This reflected the founders’ belief that democratic government could be as tyrannical as any King. "
(John Paul)

You apparently feel it is necessary for conservatives to lose something and especially the religious right. Clean that up and you will see the resolution to your complaints is quite easily discernible with out all the name calling and character assassination.

If it is an authentic issue of Freedom, then what is the Government coercing gays to do in violation of their liberty?

If it is an authentic issue of discrimination, then what activity are gays being denied by living under a label of civil union, as I proposed to you, instead of the label of marriage?
